01:146:357 Systems Physiology Laboratory

Laboratory to accompany the System Physiology lecture course. It can be used to satisfy the laboratory requirement of the CBN major. Prerequisite: Biological Res Lab (01:119:117); Corequisite: System Physiology (01:146:356).

01:146:405 Honors Seminar

  • Course Code: 01:146:405
  • Semester(s) Offered: Spring
  • Credits: 3
  • Suggested Year: 4th
  • Spring Synopsis

Development of communication and written skills needed to complete the Honors thesis in CBN.  Thesis writing, formatting, and oral slide presentation will be covered. It satisfies one of the requirements of the CBN Honors Program. Prerequisite: Permission of the course coordinator. Open only to senior CBN honors students.

01:146:406-407 Research in Cell Biology and Neuroscience

  • Suggested Year: 4th
  • Fall & Spring Synopsis

Research under the direction of a Rutgers faculty member willing to sponsor the student. Written report required. It may be used to fulfill the laboratory requirement of the CBN major. Open only to students majoring in CBN. Prerequisites: Permission of the course coordinator and lab sponsor, and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better. (Fall 406, Spring 407)

01:146:408-409 Honors Research

  • Credits: 3+3
  • Suggested Year: 4th
  • Fall & Spring Synopsis

Research under the direction of a Rutgers faculty member willing to sponsor the student for 2 consecutive semesters. Written report (for 408), written thesis, and oral presentation required (for 409). Prerequisites: Permission of the course coordinator and lab sponsor, and a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better. Open only to seniors majoring in CBN who are admitted into the departmental honors program.  (Fall 408, Spring 409)

01:146:410-411 Research Thesis in Cell Biology and Neuroscience I and II

  • Credits: 3+3
  • Suggested Year: 4th
  • Fall & Spring Synopsis

A 2-semester sequence of research under the direction of a Rutgers faculty member culminating in a thesis. Written thesis draft (for 410), written thesis and oral presentation required (for 411). Prerequisites: Permission of the course coordinator and research mentor, 2 semesters of research experience, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8. Open only to seniors majoring in CBN who are not enrolled in the departmental honors program. It may be used to satisfy the laboratory requirement of the CBN major. (Fall and Spring)
